Norwich vs Brighton: Albion are in much better shape

Kick-off: 1500, 16/10/2021

Stadium: Carrow Road

Brighton have been a revelation in the Premier League this term and are rated a clear form pick to edge out Norwich at Carrow Road.

The Canaries have struggled since coming back up to the top flight and even earning a first point at Burnley did little to impress us.

We’re going all in on Albion to oblige at 21/20 for our opening Norwich vs Brighton prediction.

A Look At Norwich City’s Betting Odds

Norwich will have been relieved to get on the board at Turf Moor but their goalless stalemate with the Clarets was a largely uninspiring contest.

Daniel Farke called it a “priceless” first step after six consecutive defeats to start the season.

Many questions remain as to whether the Canaries have the quality to build on that and ensure they do not suffer a second relegation in three seasons, though.

“We have probably the youngest squad in the whole league, a difficult fixture list and many people criticising us, but when you work for that long in my business, you stay level,” said Farke.

“Of course, after six losses there was criticism but I am always level and always convinced we are heading absolutely in the right direction.

“To get off the mark and get a clean sheet, the self-confidence is on a better level and for our young lads it was an important step.

“I know we have to take many steps, but it’s not important where you are after seven games, it’s important where you are after 37.”

City have now only scored two goals in seven outings, although they have netted in two of their three home fixtures.

Looking at the Norwich vs Brighton odds, that points us towards 16/5 for an away win and both teams to score.

Last Norwich line-up: Krul, Aarons, Gibson, Hanley, Kabak, Giannoulis, Normann, Lees-Melou, McLean, Pukki, Sargent.

Norwich expect to have defensive midfielder Mathias Normann available following a minor abdominal issue.

Midfielder Todd Cantwell (Achilles) is ready again, as is Poland winger Przemyslaw Placheta after recovering from a pre-season coronavirus infection. Milot Rashica (knee) should feature but Sam Byram (hamstring) and Christoph Zimmermann (ankle) are out.

A Look At Brighton’s Betting Odds

After four seasons of relegation scraps, Brighton have enjoyed their best start to a Premier League campaign.

Graham Potter’s well-drilled Seagulls won four of their first five fixtures and will be content with subsequent draws against Crystal Palace away and Arsenal at home.

Albion were slightly the better team in a 0-0 stalemate with the Gunners, having 21 attempts on goal, with Leandro Trossard, Dan Burn and Neal Maupay failing to capitalise on decent openings.

Potter said: “The performance was fantastic from the guys, really proud of them, we played with real quality, real courage, real intensity against a top team.

“We went toe to toe, we were brave with what we tried to do. We created, we tried; personality, performance, courage, intensity, quality, we had everything.”

The Seagulls have already registered a couple of 2-1 victories this term and 31/4 for that scoreline to come up again completes our Norwich vs Brighton betting tips.

Last Brighton line-up: Sanchez, Cucurella, Dunk, Duffy, Burn, Veltman, Gross, Lallana, Moder, Maupay, Trossard.

Brighton trio Yves Bissouma, Enock Mwepu and Adam Webster are all in contention to return from injury. Danny Welbeck (hamstring) and Steven Alzate (ankle) are facing long spells on the sidelines.
