Manchester United can wrap up second place in the Premier League table and regain a bit of confidence by seeing off Fulham at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils can just about be forgiven for back-to-back defeats due to a fixture backlog, but there will be no excuses if they fail to return to top form here.
We like 21/20 for a home win and over 2.5 goals for our first Man Utd vs Fulham prediction.
A Look At Manchester United’s Betting Odds
Manchester United fielded a second-string side for their 2-1 loss to Leicester and were outworked by a Liverpool outfit desperate to boost their top-four chances in a 4-2 defeat.
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were on target against the Reds, but they responded via Roberto Firmino’s brace in between Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah strikes.
“I think the performance was good,” Fernandes told MUTV. “We keep the ball well, we play side to side, we try to do what we trained at.
“But when you go down 2-1 and you have to play 45 minutes against a team like Liverpool, trying to push a little bit more and create dangers, you give more space to them.
“I think everyone was disappointed in the dressing room because we know we made big mistakes but we learn from that and we have to keep improving and understanding we are not at our best yet.
“We have to do better and we have to do it right now in the next game against Fulham because we want to secure second place.”
A run of four games in eight days clearly didn’t help United and this is a golden opportunity to get back on track.
Fernandes has scored 28 goals this season and will be going all out to become the first United player to hit the 30 mark in all competitions since Robin van Persie.
Looking at the Man Utd vs Fulham odds, there is obvious appeal in 6/4 for him to score in a home win here.
Last Man Utd line-up: Henderson, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Pogba, Fred, Fernandes, McTominay, Cavani, Rashford.
A Look At Fulham’s Betting Odds
Fulham’s relegation was confirmed when they were beaten 2-0 at home to Burnley and a 3-1 loss at Southampton meant they have picked up just one point in eight games.
The Cottagers did at least manage a consolation goal at St Mary’s through Fabio Carvalho, which helped us to land a trio of successful bets in our match preview.
Scott Parker said of the teenager’s performance: “It didn’t surprise me, he’s in the team because we’re searching for goals.
“We’re searching for someone to put the ball in the net and we’ve been searching for that for a little bit.
“At under-23 level, he scores goals and he’s shown in training that he can do that, so he was in the team because he deserved to be in it.
“I’m delighted for him, there’s one shining bright light from today and that’s Fabio, so that was a massive plus really.”
Fulham have struggled up front all season but they did also score in a very competitive 2-1 loss to United in London four months ago.
Harry Maguire’s absence left the Red Devils looking very ragged at the back last week, so another consolation strike could be possible for the visitors here.
Let’s add 3/1 for a home win by 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 from the multiple correct score market to our Man Utd vs Fulham betting tips.
