Arsenal and Chelsea will battle it out in Azerbaijan on Wednesday night and we’ve asked our Bwin News editors for their expert Europa League final predictions.
Bwin is offering odds on a huge range of markets ahead of this clash and here’s three contrasting betting tips on how to cash in on the prices available.
STUART WALKER: CHELSEA WIN 2-1 & HAZARD 1ST GOAL @ 28/1
The narrative of this final will be dominated by Eden Hazard and it will be fitting if the Belgium star plays a pivotal part in the outcome.
It looks more and more likely Hazard will be playing his last game for Chelsea, with a move to Real Madrid expected this summer.
After missing Chelsea’s 2013 Europa League triumph with a hamstring injury, the 28-year-old will be determined to make his mark.
Chelsea hold a record 17-game unbeaten run in the competition, while Arsenal won five successive games to reach the final.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (4) and Alexandre Lacazette (3) scored all the goals as the Gunners swept aside Valencia in the last four and will again be a threat.
But, for me, Hazard will have the final say and him to score first in a 2-1 Chelsea win at 28/1 is worth a speculative punt.
ANDREW McDERMOTT: CHELSEA TO WIN & BTTS @ 333/100
Much has been made of Arsenal’s front two but I still have serious concerns about their defence.
The Gunners have impressed in Europe this season but they looked better suited to facing continental opposition and Chelsea are arguably the worst opponents they could be meeting in Baku.
Away from the Emirates Stadium, they failed to beat any of their fellow top-six teams, conceding 14 goals in five matches, including a 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
One win from their last five Premier League matches hardly fills me with confidence either and I think Chelsea can edge this.
With the attacking talent on show and Hazard possibly playing his last game for the Blues, I reckon Chelsea to win and both teams to score is the bet here.
TONY KELSHAW: ARSENAL TO WIN 2-1 @ 21/2
Unai Emery seemed reluctant to play Aubameyang and Lacazette together in the early stages of the season, but they have forged a lethal strike partnership since allowed to team up on a regular basis.
Lacazette netted the opener when the Gunners beat Chelsea 2-0 at Emirates Stadium in January, having earlier set up Aubameyang for a chance he put wide.
The deadly duo were in sensational form during the latter stages of this competition, bagging eight goals between them as Napoli were beaten 3-0 on aggregate and then Valencia were brushed aside 3-1 and 4-2.
It is hard to play down the value of that form, with Napoli subsequently finishing a clear second in Serie A and Valencia edging out Barcelona in Saturday’s Copa del Rey decider.
If Aubameyang and Lacazette are again on song, they can hopefully prove the difference once more for my Europa League final predictions.
