Norwich to beat Coventry @ 31/50
Norwich’s slow start to the season is now well and truly behind them and they are showing why they were widely tipped to make an immediate return to the Premier League. A nine-match unbeaten run which has included seven wins has lifted them to the top of the Championship table. Emi Buendia’s suspension is a blow for the Canaries who will also be without top scorer Teemu Pukki through injury but they should be too strong for lowly Coventry, who have only picked up one point from six away games.
Bournemouth to win at Rotherham @ 91/100
It is promising to be a good season for all three relegated teams, which is perhaps understandable in a season when parachute payments are more needed than ever due to the loss of gate receipts. Norwich’s nearest challengers are Bournemouth, who have enjoyed a three-match winning run and scored nine goals in the process. David Brooks, Dominic Solanke and Junior Stanislas have all bagged a brace during that run and the attacking talent in the Cherries squad means they should have little trouble condemning Rotherham to a fifth defeat in six matches.
Oxford to beat Swindon @ 9/10
We drop into League One for the next of our football accumulator tips and it is a shame there are no fans in attendance as these bitter rivals face each other for the first time since the 2016/17 season when Oxford did the double to make it seven wins from the last eight meetings. The form of Karl Robinson’s men has picked up recently, with seven points from their last four games, easing them away from the relegation zone. They have leapfrogged Swindon, despite playing one less game, and we worry about the Robins following the recent departure of Richie Wellens. They have conceded 14 goals in five matches on their travels so far, picking up just one point.
Bolton to beat Southend @ 31/50
Bolton have made the most of a favourable run of fixtures recently and that trend can continue on Saturday. Wanderers have struggled to justify their tag as League Two promotion favourites but the recent win against Salford appears to have boosted confidence and has been followed by victories at Stevenage and Scunthorpe. Southend are six points adrift at the bottom of the table and remain easy to oppose on any football acca.
Blackpool to win at Harrogate @ 21/20
The last of our football accumulator tips is from the second round of the FA Cup with League One side Blackpool fancied to avoid an upset against League Two opposition. Harrogate have looked at home in their debut season in the Football League but their bright start was fading as they went six matches without a win before stopping the rot with a 1-0 win at Mansfield on Tuesday night. Blackpool’s form in League One has been heading in the other direction and they looked set to make it seven wins in eight matches in all competitions when they went 2-0 up at Doncaster, only to collapse in the second half. Despite that setback, there has been a lot to like about the Seasiders recently so they complete our Saturday acca picks.
